This is not the start to the offseason John Lynch and the 49ers had in mind. After closing out the year red hot with Jimmy Garoppolo under center, this latest news hurts.
According to multiple reports, rookie linebacker and first-round pick Reuben Foster was busted for possession of marijuana on Friday.
Foster was apparently back in Alabama at the time of his arrest.
Per AL.com, Foster was arrested and charged with second-degree possession of marijuana. The incident occurred in Tuscaloosa, the old stomping grounds of the former Alabama star.
"The San Francisco 49ers organization is aware of the matter involving Reuben Foster," the 49ers said per AL.com, "and we are currently gathering all relevant facts."
Foster is coming off a brilliant rookie campaign, in which he started 10 games and posted 72 tackles. This latest incident however is not a good look for the young playmaker.

Let's hope Foster can learn from this and continue to grow both on and off the field.
